Time to relax

Since then, you may (or may not) have noticed that some areas of NCI have been reorganized quite substantially. Rather than placing the majority of the administrative burden on a single person, those...

Re: On Supporting viewers

Whether we individually like viewer 2 or not, it's what newbies are using right now. It's possible for them to install older versions, or third-party viewers, but by the time we deal with them hardly any of them will have done that - or even really be aware of their existence. So, we cannot do anyth...

Re: Items with issues on NCI Lands! please List!

Cory told me he had good reasons that he did not wish to discuss, and I accepted that without pressing him. I did tell him that if it was a problem with people or policies, it would be good to know so that the problem did not crop up in future, but he declined and I respect his choice. I came away w...

Viewer 2.0

Viewer 2.0 is now in public beta as you're all probably aware by now. We've not been given an exact date, but we expect it will be between two weeks and five weeks (and no more than that) before all newbies are entering SL with the new viewer. When that day comes, every texture, notecard, class, han...

Resident Help Network

NCI’s application for the RHN (Resident Help Network) has been approved. That’ll get us a special mark and an entry in the Destination guide ( http://secondlife.com/destinations/howto ) plus additional promotion of NCI to new users. As a part of this, Linden Lab expects NCI to comply fully with:...

Your thoughts on the restructure?

To try to clarify the organizational restructure a bit, I've produced an organization chart, which you've probably already seen. I realize that it isn't entirely complete (I've missed a few names, for example), but in broad it I think it reflects the more decentralized structure that I'm aiming for:...

Re: Where is everybody....?

Bootstrapping a forum takes a bit of time. Hey, at least people aren't complaining, right? :)
