I'm here, and check the forum about once a week, depending on internets.

It's that time of year again ...
The "Big 4" holidays are upon us ( in the States ). So far we have survived 2, but can we survive the rest? Here is a funny video I found on the subject. http://www.thatguywiththeglasses.com/videolinks/thatguywiththeglasses/specials/13799-cf Warning, some "adult language" is in t...

Re: Suggestion for Educational Builds
A bit of consolidation may be in order, or some sort of major expansion. I'd say a major walk-threw of all of SL's major areas would take up at LEAST 1/2 sim worth of prims. Design is also critical. Some sort of logical "path" to follow, with different sections, inter-teleportation, and fu...

Re: What Happened To You In Second Life That Was Funny?
Nothing funny recently, since I can not log into SL normally .... but this year .... I bought a land next to Kuula, and several folks told me "You'll never be able to resell that for a profit" .... Needless to say I sold the land with in 15 days for almost 2X what I bought it for. Ya...

Re: Leading Volunteers First, Managing Them Second
Train the folks how to do the job, and let them do it, with out micro management, usually yields the best results. Most folks in NCI like helping folks, with out "reward". Not much variety. A Helper can expect the same thing day in and day out. Same with LO, and teacher. I can not see muc...

Re: Hierarchy, Rules, Commands ... an alternative
Turning the current system into a complex set of all encompassing rules would turn NCI into congress. Seriously, "Don't be a donkey, or you don't stay here" works better than a 500 page book of rules classifying all the different kinds of donkeys, and what should be done with each kind of ...

Re: Avatars.
Avs can be remote linked. Now about server space needed, if we happen to become a very popular forum, we'd need about 2 gig space for them. ( Seen this in 2 other forums I belong to, when their sever hard crashed taking out the AV files ) To cut down on loading and space, make the AV requirements 40...

Re: Open Casting for NCI Bloggers!
I'd do in depth land posts, 1-3 times a week, though some may find all the numbers I throw around a bit confusing.
