Re: New all-in-one HUD, AdNode, Freebie Giver, Radar, Adventure
Maybe also with built in events notification like for upcoming classes, or maybe for large inworld events like Burning Life or Second Life Birthday or etc, and also maybe built-in tours for popular places to go inworld?

New all-in-one HUD, AdNode, Freebie Giver, Radar, Adventure
What do you guys think about something that NCI could give to residents that would have a mini-version of the freebie board, along with maybe a small AdNode piece inside it, and maybe outside news from blogs or freebie sites, along with maybe some other useful tools like radar or platform rezzer, or...

Re: What is "democracy"?
I've gone over about 6 drafts of what I wanted to say next in response here, but I think I'll go with the post that most directly answers what Quite originally asked, taking into account what others have written since. I'm not sure how democratic the Red Cross is, but I would assume not at all, and ...

Re: What is "democracy"?
When Quite started this thread, she was asking for our input on an issue that in her words is an "important discussion", and I agree. Also, according to Quite, "Democracy" was one of three important things people want, and I hope we can stay focused on communication and on answer...

Re: Hierarchy, Rules, Commands ... an alternative
In response to the question by Quite above, I was referring back to the post by Janet and being positive. In regard to what you asked about "What freedoms are you asking for that you don't already have?", I think the idea that was being expressed was more about the way leadership works wit...

Re: What is "democracy"?
When you have the leader of an organization go to a point where there is a split that cannot be resolved, and the group forces a showdown where people have to quit in order for there to be order, that isn't legitimacy, that is duress and power politics. I can't speak for how you feel, Tateru, but my...

Re: NCI Organization and Style - Democracy
I'm not seeing anyone suggest that every person in NCI or in the NCI Land Holdings group vote on every single issue. In looking at Janet's original post, I'm not sure that I have seen anyone actually focusing on the points in the post. The comments seem to have been more generalized or on the overal...

Re: Hierarchy, Rules, Commands ... an alternative
I completely agree with Janet on keeping things simple, and letting people have freedom. I seems like people who are given freedom and motivation to do things will do more, and having lots of rules can help focus things, but they don't necessarily let people do more, and they might also lead to peop...

Re: What is "democracy"?
I think what people are really saying they want with those 3 things is a simple, yet hard to achieve, thing called Trust. That takes time, and it takes effort. The question really becomes, does the leadership we have right now, have the inclination as well as the time to devote to that? And that is ...
