Re: Respect
Thank you Lethe for a perfect example of what I meant. A threat and calling it unpleasant without even addressing the issues surrounding respect. As as far as help first and punish as a last resort , I couldn't agree more. That's exactly the approach I have tried to take in bringing things up. I wis...

Re: Respect
If you want to build a ship, don't drum up people to collect wood and don't assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea. -- Antoine de Saint-Exupery

Re: New all-in-one HUD, AdNode, Freebie Giver, Radar, Adventure
Why make people have to revisit NCI locations just to find out that something they like is going on? The entire purpose of NCI is not to encourage masses of people to stay at NCI, but to help people grow and move on, and to encourage new people to come in. If you give people something they can take ...

Re: What is "democracy"?
At the end of Feb, Gramma is stepping down as Chairperson, when that happens, the BoD has to decide how to fill the post. We could ask for a volunteer from the BoD, or the BoD elect one, or ask for nominations from the members and BoD vote, or ask for members to vote for a current member of the BoD...

Re: New all-in-one HUD, AdNode, Freebie Giver, Radar, Adventure
NCI is great as a way to start people out in SL, but I don't expect that we are wanting to hold people at NCI every day, but instead simply serving as the introduction for SL... the idea I was proposing with this all-in-one HUD, including a freebie spotlight or freebie finder, would be to still have...

Re: What is "democracy"?
Beverly to respond to what you asked.... first, at least in this thread, Quite Oh asked the question because she said that people were asking for several things, including Democracy, and she asked the general members of the forum to help clarify what that might mean on a deeper level. Listening to m...

Re: What is "democracy"?
Its true of course that just making decisions by yourself can be quicker. And I seem to remember someone doing that recently. And from the description of the events, it seems the Board of Directors rose up against the decision in protest, nearly ripping NCI's leadership and future to shreds. Now, th...
