Post by Trinity Coulter »

"Greenlife Emerald Users and Coders" is suggested as a good group to join in SL for people who need Emerald Viewer help.

Group: Greenlife Emerald Users and Coders (991 members)
Charter: This is a group to discuss the Greenlife Emerald Viewer.

-or-

Do:
Ask for help with the viewer
Ask about features
Discuss anything relating to the viewer
Suggest features that you'd like to see

We do get a lot of questions on Emerald these days, but maybe until we get busier here it would be better to have a kind of Third Party Viewer Megathread, with a really nice detailed first post about the various options out there, Emerald, Impudence, etc. That would be super helpful as a resource people can just read, rather than counting on responses about one viewer in particular.

Emerald tip:

If you click on the radar button, you can see a list of all avatars within 4096 meters.

If you 2click on a name, your camera will zoom to the avatar.

"Out of range" is determined by your client's viewing distance.

Viewing distance can be adjusted via a little slider on the bottom left hand of your client.

If things are rezzing too slow, use the draw distance slider and drop it as low as it will go to force load the closest things, then manually type in the original distance you had before. ;)

I do this extremely often, it helps with all laggy situations; this trick can be used after teleporting or when you are trying to rez objects or prims and thing are loading way too slow. :(
