Tired stream
Tired stream
Avst ye bildge rats ye!
Could ye make it so, that that thar music stream at Kuula gets periodically alternated between a wee set of streams which themselves, as a whole me hearties, represents a more diverse music palette for our fellow shipmates to whistle along with as they man the sails and scrub the noob decks together.
Perhaps alternatin' on the hour between rock, commercial/top40, indie and jazz/classical.
Ahar?

JIMBO!!!! Hey scurvy dog!
Guys isnt there a way to carry your own tunes upon your person like it was a personal iPod? Just curious, but I never thought to ask before.

Re: Tired stream
Sure there is: mute the sound stream and play your own music from Spotify/youtube/etc... but it may be against the ToS since it alters your shared experience of the virtual world ;PAlaska Udimo wrote:Alaska looks for a Pirate Speech Encyclopedia o.o

Re: Tired stream
And shared experience is the point, really. Sharing the music is part of that. Would you dance with your honey, but each listening to different tunes on your iPod? I hope not ...

Aharrr!
The music genres played in Kuula cater predominantly to the 30+ age group so we tried to find a stream with following criteria; Hot 100, new music, no ads, no Dj's yakking. Me inexperienced crew and meself were forced to abort mission before sundown due to 'Low Rum Supply'.
Anyone up on streams? I'm not.
@ AK, did you mean an iPod thingy u can play music in local chat?
P.S Prolly wouldn't make much sense to play classical or jazz for extended periods since so few people listen to it on a daily basis. Sometimes could work tho imo. Will keep searchin in the mean time, cheers.

Re: Tired stream
From what I have seen the stream does get changed sometimes, people go "oh this is so much better" and a day or 2 later it gets changed back. I could pretty much predict the next track on the current radio stream as it's been here years, albeit with small breaks.
Re: Tired stream
The stream dispute is a recurring one.
We change it, and there's always someone who complains. In the end we revert to the one we've had for decades. We have had The Weasel for a while, which even accepts online tune requests. But alas, not all of it is pre-kindergarden-rated, so naturally the complainers won again.
Case closed, if you ask me.
Just play your own music locally, is my advice.
Play your own music inworld ontop of the stream to get in trouble.

Let's not call it rude. Let's call it cordially challenged
Let's not call it trolling. Let's call it socially impaired
Let's not call it griefing. Let's call it differently creative
Ah heck, I'll keep calling things what they actually are!

Re: Tired stream
Well you say "always someone" but that "someone" always seems to be maybe one person, usually a staff member. If the majority like the change surely their opinion should count?
